A Richmond girl, 17, was struck and injured by car on Stockton Avenue about 5:34 p.m. today, Wednesday, said El Cerrito police Detective Corporal Gilbert Tang.
The full extent of her injuries were not known, but they were serious enough for her to be airlifted by medical helicopter from Cerrito Vista Park to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, said fire department Battalion Chief Michael Bond. She was conscious when transported, he said.
The accident happened at the intersection with Everett Street, Bond said.
The car was heading east on Stockton at the time, and the driver, an El Cerrito woman whose name was not released, stopped at the scene, Tang said.
Information about the accident was still being gathered when this article was published, and no further details were available.
