Parking tickets at Pt. Isabel Regional Shoreline

Richmond police have begun to issue $100 parking tickets on Rydin Road, at the entrance to Pt. Isabel Regional Shoreline
(the "dog park"). The curbs are mostly painted red, but Richmond police have ignored this until recently. The small parking lot and the few available street spaces on Rydin Road are totally inadequate for the heavy demand by dog walkers and other
users of the shoreline trail (see photo). Richmond city officials mostly object to street parking by the big rigs associated with the postal facility, but instead have banned all parking.
If you object to this illogical policy, please write to Richmond City Engineer Steven Tam <Steven_tam@ci.richmond.ca.us> and send me a copy.
