Charlie Weaver’s memorial service at Sunset View on January 12th was a who’s who of Rotarians, Chamber members, and friends. Our well liked Chamber Secretary-Treasurer passed away in December. One of the many people who spoke about Charlie was Bob Coté, a long time friend. Bob, a certified public accountant, will take over Charlie’s accounting business and maintain the distinctive office building at 10504 San Pablo Avenue (at Waldo). Bob has a Web site at www.cotecpa.com and telephone contact can be made at (510) 524-3575. I’ve been told the office will remain a dog friendly place.

El Cerrito’s new Chipotle restaurant will be opening by the end of this month if all goes to plan according to Eric Klemann of Chipotle Customer Service. Located at the corner of Carlson and San Pablo, expect the store to be a big hit with locals. Often Chipotle posts the status of new stores and opening dates on their Facebook page.

Get ready for a joint mixer on Wednesday, February 20th, 5-7 p.m., at La Revolucion restaurant, 3190 Klose Way (next to Hilltop theaters) in Richmond. New El Cerrito Chamber of Commerce President Sonja Givens-Thomas arranged this event with Judy Morgan of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce at the huge Craneway super mixer last month. Bring plenty of business cards for networking and expect the food to be absolutely delicious.

THIS JUST IN: Add the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to the preceding event. A three-way mixer for fun and to take advantage of business opportunities. It just gets better!
