i'm rabid for recycling!

i moved in to the village at town center apartments in march.  Our trash area is great,  we have about the same container space for trash as we do recycling, so we can throw just about anything and everything that are the usual suspects, into the recycling side.
Unfortunately, every day that i take out the trash i am compelled to pull cardboard, lots of it, junkmail, and glass from the trash to the recycle side.  this week there were a lot of large cardboard boxes not broken down, with the addresses still on them, and i decided to go to their houses to ask them to recycle.
the first door i went to the woman said she just moved here, and goodness knows, the rest of the world does not recycle the way we do, so i hope i made a difference.  The second address was a couple, again who said they just moved here, man, i hope i did not seem like a crazy tennant.
I will definitely keep pulling recyclable trash out and to the correct side, but would i be crazy if i kept going to people's apartments to let them know what the deal is?  many of the new residents are not from here, being a national rental company, folks i have met are from out of state.  i emailed the manager and asked that they post clear signs about what is recyclable and what is trash, what else can i do?  anywhoo, thanks for reading!  love you el cerrito!
