City of El Cerrito, worldOne Hosting July 4th Festival

The popular annual event is free.

The City of El Cerrito and worldOne announced the main stage line up for the 2014 July 4th Festival to be held in Cerrito Vista Park on Friday, July 4, 2014. This long-running event offers daytime family fun and global entertainment for all ages! Admission is free.

Cerrito Vista Park is located at 950 Pomona Avenue at Moeser Lane in El Cerrito, CA 94530. Dogs are not allowed at the event.

The 16th Annual worldOne Festival (a part of the City’s Fourth of July Festival presented by worldOne Radio KECG - 88.1 FM) will take place in Cerrito Vista Park and begins the celebration on Thursday night, July 3rd, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  with a free performance by Los Cenzontles.

Main Stage performers for the 2014 July 4th Festival will include:

  • The Rusty String Express
  • Kamakakehau Fernandez
  • Orquesta La Moderna Tradición
  • Queen Makedah
  • Razteria
  • Bang Data
  • Zulu Spear
  • Non-Stop Bhangra

Other performers scheduled to appear include DJ Doug Went, DJ Jimmy Love, DJ Jose Ruiz and MCDJ worldOnelove, Roger Perkins’ Mohawk Friendship Dance, Hoopin’ Heather, Magical Nathanial and African Outlet. A family favorite, Circus Imagination will once again present their audience-participation animal-free circus shows geared for young children.

The El Cerrito Art Association’s eighth annual 4th of July Art Show and Sale will include numerous local artists selling their work.

There will be food stalls featuring food from around the world and delicious carnival treats, plus vendors selling an assortment of items including arts and crafts, toys, clothing, books, jewelry, accessories and informational booths by several local organizations and clubs. Children will enjoy the carnival games, face painting, a rock climbing wall, bounce houses, and carnival rides for young children.

Free bike valet parking will be available on Moeser Lane. There is limited street parking in the area. Attendees may also park in the Moeser Lane Shopping Center on San Pablo Ave., (approximately 1/2 mile from the park).

On Friday, July 4, 2014, portions of Moeser Lane and Pomona Avenue near Cerrito Vista Park will be closed to traffic. Detours will be in effect.
