Help restore Cerrito Creek at Albany Hill/Creekside Park

Join Friends of Five Creeks volunteers preparing for fall planting of natives on Cerrito Creek at the foot of Albany Hill. Be part of more than 10 years' work restoring this amazing ecological island in the city!

Learn about fascinating history, too, from Native American settlement through deadly dynamite making and the "perils of Pauline" preservation of Albany Hill. If you want, bring a picnic, or plan to take a short nature walk or climb Albany Hill when work is done.

All ages welcome -- light and heavy tasks for all. Tools, gloves, snacks, and water provided. Wear closed-toed shoes with good traction and clothes that can get dirty.

Find out what's happening in El Cerritowith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Meet at El Cerrito's Creekside Park, south end of Santa Clara Avenue. We'll cross the creek on stepping stones to work.
