Summer Exhibitions Opening Reception

The Richmond Art Center is proud to announce its Summer exhibitions program featuring a range of emerging and established East Bay (and Bay Area) artists. The exhibitions kick off with a free opening reception on Saturday, June 14 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, featuring live music by Yolanda Alicia, Lichi Fuentes + Javier Trujillo starting at 5:30 pm

Four exhibitions will feature a diverse array of emerging and established Bay Area artists, including:

Ruth Braunstein: Focus on Clay  celebrates Ruth Braunstein and her role in advancing the cultural history of art in the San Francisco Bay Area as a long-time gallerist, art advocate and collector. This exhibition, curated by Anthony Torres, will showcase objects integral to the history of San Francisco Bay Area art, its artists and galleries, including works by Tatako Araki, Arlo Acton, Robert Arneson, Robert Brady, Karen Breschi, Tony Costanzo, Arlene Daw, Jack Earl, Bean Finneran, Howard Finster, Coille Hooven, Thomas McCanna, Jim Melchert, Ron Nagle, Win Ng, George Ohr, Tim Rowan, Richard Shaw, Sandy Simon, Chris Unterseher, Peter Voulkos, Sue Whitmore and other artists. Meet Ruth Braunstein at the opening reception on Saturday, June 14, 5 - 7:00 pm.

Slusky and Sullivan: Sculptures, Drawings, and Related Antics, showcasing works by UC Berkeley professors and artists Joseph Slusky and Chip Sullivan.

Richmond Art Center Annual Members Show featuring works in a range of media, including screen-printing, ceramics, metals, painting, drawing, photography, sculpture and weaving. A showcase gallery will feature works by the Show's 2013 award winners: Gene Erickson, Virginia Jourdan, Jeremy Nuttall, Joseph Rogers and Saadi Shapiro.
