Volunteer Adult Literacy Tutor Training

Project Second Chance, the Contra Costa County library adult literacy program, is offering training for volunteer tutors. Volunteers are needed to help adults who read below a 6th grade level improve reading, writing and spelling skills.Training is on - 



  • Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 6:30-8:30 pm

  • Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 9:00-3:00 pm, and

  • Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 9:00-3:00pm.

  • All 14 hours are required.


To take the training, you must pre-register. Registration begins on December 12, 2012 and closes when spots are full. Apply online at  http://ccclib.org/psc/tutors.html.


Training is at the Pleasant Hill Library. On-going tutorial sessions however, can take place at the library of your choice.
