ECTT Berkeley Paths & Architectural Hike

The hike will meet at Live Oak Park, North Berkeley, at 8:30am, Shattuck Avenue and Berryman Street.

We will search out spectacular homes mentioned in 41 Berkeley Walking Tours (published by the Berkeley Architectural Heritage) using the Berkeley Path Wanders Association map.

Options will be:

• short swim at Lake Anza (5 minutes as the water is very cold, but after the hike up well worth it.) Bring swim trunks and towel. $2.50 fee for lake access to the beach.

• lunch at 12:45pm at the Bernard Maybeck designed, UC Faculty Club,  $10.00 or less, open to the public

Notes:

Timing should be, 8:45am to 11:00am to Lake Anza. 11:20am to 12:45pm to UC Faculty Club. (closes at 1:30pm)

We can take a short tour of the campus along our way, then through the "Holy Hills" area of religious centers, schools and residences on the northside of the campus on the way back to the cars.

Hikers can participate in the options or not: they can bring their own lunch and eat outside the Faculty Club on the lovely Faculty Glade.

Hikers from Marin and others can meet me at 3462 Yosemite Avenue at 8:10am sharp to carpool and/or follow me to the trailhead.

For those coming from Marin or SF, I advise meeting at my house, 3462 Yosemite Ave. El Cerrito, at 8:15 sharp.  It is directly on the way to Live Oak Park. Central Ave. exit of 580 or 80, go toward the hills, East, and look for Yosemite in just a few streets and go right to the end. Cell phone 510-520-9782

There are three hour parking restrictions around Live Oak Park where we meet. If you follow me and we limit the amount of cars I can show where to park where there are no restrictions near the park.
