Community Update

Algin the director is one of the most offensive, pretentious, and rude human beings I have encountered in a yoga setting. Before I begin my story I wold like to say what an embarrassment he is to the yoga community and the east bay in general. He is completely unaware of what the term yoga even encompasses, and is generally an unintelligent and unkind person.

The instructors here are amazing, incredibly friendly, and competent, but if you have had good experiences here so far, I would welcome you to meet Algin. Id wager that your views would change.

I bought a groupon for this place and had been one time. It was fine and the facility was nice. I went a second time and had to leave early, so I let the instructor know and she said it was absolutely fine. I set up right near the door so I wouldnt bother anyone when I needed to leave. Long story short Algin came over to me, told me he recommended I do the whole class. I have done yoga for four years so I understand that it is recommended, but today I couldnt finish out the class. So I let him know this.

Then he started talking about how it was for security reason that I couldnt leave early. I was trying to understand what he meant but he wasnt explaining anything with any clarity and kept saying it was recommended to finish the class. I finally got up and got my stuff to leave. I went to the front to ask the instructor to refund my class an she was very nice about it. She asked why and I told her, she was very surprised to hear that it was an issue that I leave early.

At this point Algin comes out to the front and asks what the problem is. I told him he obviously already knows what the problem is, he was the one who recommended I leave. This ensued into a dramatic verbal argument, during which he was standing in a weird and aggressive stance. It didnt work considering I was taller than him. And the fact that he even attempted to potentially "intimidate me" is a serious issue. Considering I am the customer.

Anyway I left, and will obviously NEVER go back. I am going to attempt to get my money back for the groupon, but reading the other reviews about Algin (on yelp) I am sure his greedy and unclassy behavior will proceed him when I make the request.

And last, I have never made a bad review about any place I have visited but this experience WAS SO HORRIBLE, that I had to let other customers know.
