If you're feeling helpful, there are opportunities to get involved this Saturday, along with places to go dancing on Friday, then relax your mind and feel human on Sunday.
FRIDAY
Every first Friday of the month you can catch the Reed Fromer Band as they put on a powerful, energetic and danceable show of R&B and funk, as well as offering some soulful ballads for dinner guests at The Baltic.

SATURDAY
Join the California Native Plants society in removing invasive plants from Point Isabel near the Hoffman Marsh. All tools will be provided, so just bring a water bottle and wear sunscreen, a hat and a smile.
Where: Meet at Rydin Road, just off Interstate 580 next to Hoffman Marsh
When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Join the last set-building volunteer work party before the musical Chicago opens at the theatre on Sept. 16. Even if you have no experience or not much time to give, your help will be appreciated and you'll have fun learning the ins and outs of putting on a theater production.

SUNDAY
If you're looking for a way to quiet your mind before the week begins, check out this weekly meditation at the Tibetan Buddhist center Ewam Chodem in Kensington. The morning meditation lasts about 90 minutes and the public is welcome.
