Two Eagle Scouts Fledged at Camp Herms

Chris Bennett of El Cerrito and Brian Orr of San Pablo were awarded their Eagle Scout certificates at Camp Herms in El Cerrito.

A very long leadership journey reached its destination recently when two Boy Scouts received their Eagle Scout Certificates at Camp Herms in El Cerrito.

Chris Bennett from El Cerrito and Brian Orr from San Pablo in Troop 104 received these honors at the Eagle Court of Honor on May 22. They also received the California State Assembly Certificate of Merit.

One of the requirements for Eagle is leading a community service project of 100 hours or more. Chris, a senior at El Cerrito High and a third-generation Eagle Scout in his family, completed a 350-hour leadership project rebuilding the retaining wall and bench system at Tassajara Park in El Cerrito for the City of El Cerrito for his Eagle Project.

Brian's completed project consisted of clearing the grounds and building planter boxes for the EcoClub at Middle College High School, where he's a senior.
