Patch Gets Slightly New Face Today

You may notice a few changes to the Patch homepage beginning around 2 p.m. today. We hope you'll like them.

Update: 11:15 a.m. the launch of our slightly revised homepage may be delayed. It had been scheduled for 2 p.m. today.

Patch is scheduled to undergo a small change in looks at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday.

We did a quick visual revamp to the homepage to make it more user-friendly. And we've moved a couple pieces of furniture. Here are some chief ones:

Find out what's happening in El Cerritowith free, real-time updates from Patch.

  • We moved you – the readers – closer to the top. We're moving the section of our homepage containing the most recent reader comments from the lower right of the page to top and center.
  • We tweaked some words in our navigation bar (e.g., "Traffic & Gas" becomes "Commute," and "Places" will be "Directory.")
  • We're giving the weather icon a more prominent home next to the El Cerrito Patch masthead so you can find it more easily.
  • And we prettified a few things.

Meanwhile, we'll continue to publish the same content, including coverage by us and by you of what's happening in El Cerrito and Kensington. That was, is, and will always be our mission. We hope you'll let us know what you think of our tweaks – feel welcome to drop us a line at elcerrito@patch.com or offer a comment below.
