Story time, bunny time, Huckleberry Finn and some slimy creatures in Berkeley. Read about what El Cerrito and its neighbors have in store for your family this weekend.

    Why Go: This weekly storytime is a great excuse to browse around for a new book for yourself, while your kids enjoy a story read by one of Barnes & Noble friendly staff.
    Pricing: Free.


  • Where/When:
    , Friday-Saturday, 8 p.m. and Sunday, 2 p.m. (matinee)
    Why Go: Be the first family on your block to see this new production based on the timeless book by Mark Twain, but with a large helping of Dixiland and Cajun music.

  • Where/When:
    Black Pine Circle School, 2027 7th St., Berkeley. Saturday, 10 a.m - noon.
    Why Go: Tree Frog Treks, a science and nature kids' adventure camp company, will bring some of their critters to a community event at Black Pine Circle School, but you don't have to be enrolled to attend!
    Pricing: Free.

    Why Go: It's the Year of the Rabbit and there's no better way to learn about this celebration than with Chinese animal stories, dim sum demo and a bunny adoption fair.

    Why Go: If you haven't been to Playland in a while, this is a great weekend to bring a friend, who will get $5 off the regular price of admission.
