Get Out: Dancing at Lughnasa, Bazaar for Japan, Recycling Center Plans, Green Team, More

This weekend brings a great play, a way to help Japan, a Recycling Center meeting, gambling for a cause and a clean-up day at Cerrito Vista Park.

Every Thursday, El Cerrito Patch brings offers options for you to get out and enjoy.


  • Where/When:
    , 603 Key Route Blvd., Albany. Thursday, 7 p.m., Friday-Saturday, 8 p.m.
    Why Go: Check out the latest play from Albany High School's Theater Ensemble. El Cerrito's own, Rachel Ozer-Bearson, a junior at Albany High, co-directed the production. Read more about her and her process in .
    Pricing: $10, general; $5 students and seniors


  • Where/When:
    2599 Telegraph Ave., Berkeley. Thursday, noon to 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    Why Go: A Madera Elementary School family member tipped us off to this great bazaar happening in Berkeley this weekend. You can buy handmade crafts, ceramics and clothing at this event and all proceeds will go to the Japan Earthquake Relief Fund of the Japanese Consulate. Pick up something new for yourself and help out the people of Japan as well.

    Why Go: Come to this meeting if you'd like to find out more about what items will be added to the the reuse section of the new recycling center or if you've been bothered by the behavior around the Free Book Exchange, see how the code of conduct in this section will be changing.

  • Where/When: , 7007 Moeser Ln., El Cerrito. Saturday, 7-10 p.m.
    Why Go: This event is for adults only, but will help keep ECHS Grad Night fun and safe for every senior. Admission includes play money, silent auction bidding, hors d'oeuvres and dessert.
    Pricing: $20 in advance, $25 at the door

  • Where/When:
    Pomona Ave & Moeser Ln, El Cerrito. Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon.
    Why Go: Join your neighbors in cleaning up the heavily used Cerrito Vista Park. After the clean up there will be refreshments and a chance to socialize and meet the community.
