El Cerrito del Norte Shuttle, Multiple Rideshares Give Commuters More Options

UPDATE 7/2/13 8:30 AM: alert.511.org reports that shuttle buses at El Cerrito del Norte, Walnut Creek, Dublin/Pleasanton and Fremont stations will no longer be able to carry passengers this morning due to the overwhelming demand. Service from these stations was scheduled to continue no later than 8 a.m. Those buses reached capacity shortly before 7 a.m. BART added buses at West Oakland Station this morning and there is capacity at that station until 8 a.m., including parking available.

It’s Day 2 of the system-wide BART strike and early reports are showing more traffic than Monday.

“Passengers will receive a round trip ticket on a first come, first serve basis in the morning at these four stations only,” the statement said. “All buses will feed into West Oakland station and passengers will transfer to a bus headed for the city.”

Buses for afternoon return trips to the East Bay will board on Howard Street between Fremont and Beale streets. The buses will run from 5 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 7 p.m., the statement said.
