UPDATE 7/2/13 8:30 AM: alert.511.org reports that shuttle buses at El Cerrito del Norte, Walnut Creek, Dublin/Pleasanton and Fremont stations will no longer be able to carry passengers this morning due to the overwhelming demand. Service from these stations was scheduled to continue no later than 8 a.m. Those buses reached capacity shortly before 7 a.m. BART added buses at West Oakland Station this morning and there is capacity at that station until 8 a.m., including parking available.
It’s Day 2 of the system-wide BART strike and early reports are showing more traffic than Monday.

The Los Angeles Times reports that BART also has secured 58 buses that can provide “free but very limited” charter service at four stations: El Cerrito del Norte, Walnut Creek, Dublin/Pleasanton and Fremont.

“Passengers will receive a round trip ticket on a first come, first serve basis in the morning at these four stations only,” the statement said. “All buses will feed into West Oakland station and passengers will transfer to a bus headed for the city.”
Buses for afternoon return trips to the East Bay will board on Howard Street between Fremont and Beale streets. The buses will run from 5 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 7 p.m., the statement said.
