Every once in a while, I can't resist a joke that usually calls forth only a groan. Sometime I'm told I belong in a punitentiary. These three fit not only that category, but also are timely. To riddles most fowl, a feather-brained apology.

  3. Wondering where to buy what for your Thanksgiving feast? Go no farther than the and you'll probably be able to find most of what you want -- this is one-stop shopping at its best from 9am-1pm. You can find fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers, condiments, bread, crafts and more, all the while listening to lovely live, local musicians. The prices are great, the produce as fresh as its gets and the ambience is centuries old -- that of shopping in a street market or bazaar. Have fun!
  4. Long ago and far away in a land often buried in snow,  I lived for the days when snow or holidays closed the schools. This week, the Thanksgiving holiday is driving the early closings and days off Thursday and Friday. All the students attending West Contra Costa Unified School District schools will attend only a half day Wednesday. Enjoy your school days on and off while they last; companies aren't nearly as generous with vacation time.
  5.  Now I'm going to kvell  about Patch'exciting new Q&A feature, This feature has its own tab on our home page, which tells you right away that we consider the Q&A  an important way to make it very easy to hear from you. You can ask a question, something you've always wondered about, say, "How many teenage bands are playing now in town," or, "How does it feel to be a City Council member and have to be familiar with so many facts and figures," or "When will the town build a new library?' The Q&A is a type of Dear Abby, because although it is not intended to answer problems with your spouses or in-laws, we want it to answer your questions about where you live, and how things work, or why they don't. The Q&A is there to strengthen your relationship with your hometown. Use this tool! We look forward to hearing from you.
