El Cerrito Orchard Supply Hardware Will Close
The store on Eastshore Boulevard is included in the latest list of closures
The Orchard Supply Hardware on Eastshore Boulevard in El Cerrito will close in the next few months.
A spokesperson for the San Jose-based company said the El Cerrito store is now being run by an auction and appraisal company that is selling off merchandise before the closure, according to a story in the Contra Costa Times.
Orchard Supply filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy in June, announcing it was selling its stores to Lowe's Companies Inc.
The company said it will close 17 of its 99 stores. The rest will be operated by Lowe's under the Orchard Supply name, the Times reported.
In June, the company released a list of eight stores that would close. The El Cerrito store wasn't on that initial list.
