Video: Martin Luther King Jr. – "I Have a Dream" Speech

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day today, Jan. 16, we are featuring a video of King's famous 17-minute speech delivered at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., on Aug. 28, 1963.

The "I Have a Dream" speech by Martin Luther King Jr. on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on Aug. 28, 1963 marked a significant milestone in the Civil Rights Movement and is remembered as one of the greatest speeches of the 20th century. One hundred years after Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation, King's soaring oratory climaxed a massive March on Washington that called for equal opportunity and freedom for all.
