KYUDO: THE SPIRITUAL PATH OF JAPANESE ARCHERY
Kyudo is the Way of the Bow. The Japanese bow is large, supple, and is made of wood and bamboo. Because the act of shooting reflects the inner working, the heart, of the archer, Kyudo is a path of self-discovery. Kyudo provides the opportunity for the archer to be pure, and to continue this state until the arrow, naturally, of its own, leaves the bow. When practiced this way, Kyudo becomes a deeply spiritual training.
We practice every Sunday, from 1-3 PM. All are welcome and we provide all the necessary equipment to people who are getting started. Please contact Robert Fischer (510-642-1314, rfischer@calmail.berkeley.edu) and see our web site (http://www.kyudo-spiritual-path.org/) for more information about our Sunday classes and our annual Kyudo retreat with our teacher, Michiya Sagino Shihan, from Japan.
