Spectacular Sunset Presages Winter Solstice
Sunday's sunset seen from the Natural Area showed why El Cerrito's motto is "City with a View."
El Cerrito's motto is City with a View, and a spectacular place to enjoy expansive bay vistas is the Natural Area above the recycling center. These photos of one of the best San Francisco Bay sunsets of the year show why.
It was enhanced by the time of year—Winter Solstice—when the sun is as far south as it will get all year, setting at the Marin Headlands, nearly behind the Golden Gate Bridge.
These images don't begin to do it justice; it filled the entire sky, from above San Francisco far beyond Mount Tamalpais over San Pablo Bay.
