Crews Fight Tilden Park Fire Through Night

The fire consumes close to an acre of land near Grizzly Peak.


Authorities have nearly contained a blaze that consumed an acre of Tilden Regional Park on Monday night.

As of 10:30 p.m., the fire was reportedly 80-90 percent contained, according to Officer Doug Wilson of the Kensington Police Department.

The fire was near the "Steam Trains" exit on Grizzly Peak. Crews from East Bay Regional Park Service and area firefighters were on scene.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
