Tri-City Safety Day 2011

Tri-City Safety Day is a 20 year tradition that brings the El Cerrito/Kensington and Albany Fire Departments together. Tri-City Safety Day brings these public safety agencies together to meet and talk with local residents in a fun and relaxed environment.

This family friendly event is free and all residents of El Cerrito, Kensington and Albany are encouraged to attend.

Participating agencies include and from El Cerrito, Kensington, Albany, and Richmond, El Cerrito/Kensington Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT), the American Red Cross; Contra Costa County Hazardous Material Disposal Unit, Animal Services and others.

The activities of the day include:

  • Display of emergency response vehicles, including Fire engines, ladder truck, Hazmat vehicles, Police cruisers and motorcycles; 
  • Opportunity to talk with police, firefighters and other emergency responders;
  • Give-a-ways and hands-on drills for kids; 
  • Special appearance from fire prevention mascot Smokey the Bear, as well as McGruff the Crime Dog;
  • Information on local safety resources.
