Richmond Writes! Poetry Contest

The Richmond Writes! poetry contest begins Sept. 20; submittal deadline is Oct. 4. Contest is open to all students in elementary, middle, high school, or adult ed programs. Students must live or attend school in Richmond. Poems can be haiku or short poems (under 200 words.) The theme is cultural legacy, personal everyday heroes, keeping one's culture alive, and favorite neighborhood places. Winners will he honored at an award ceremony at the Richmond City Council meeting on Oct. 25 at 7:00 pm. For more information contact bkwms07@sbcglobal.net.
