El Cerrito High School Theatre Showcase

The Theatre Department is presenting its first Theatre Showcase on Friday, December 2, at 7:30 pm featuring original commercials, scenes from’ Rosencranz and Guildenstern are Dead’, musical numbers from Grease and Rent. Suggested donations are $5.  Contra Costa Civic Theatre has donated two tickets to ”Barefoot in the Park” as a door prize, alumni have donated some iTunes cards as additional door prizes. Refreshments will be sold to benefit to the program.

This year, Ms. Dreyfus is planning a showcase for each semester of drama students.    Next school year, she hopes to stage a play just after Thanksgiving, and collaborate with band director Keith Johnson and his competition- winning music ensemble to put on a musical in the spring of 2013.

The Supporters of the Performing Arts, a sponsored group committee of the 501c3 Student Activity Fund is not just after cash donations.  SPA is also looking for community members interested in volunteering at fundraisers, events on an ongoing basis.  Have an idea for a creative fundraiser?
