Author Talk - Bedouin Weaving of Saudi Arabia and Its Neighbours

Author Joy Totah Hilden will present a slideshow and discuss her book about Bedouin textiles and weaving crafts. Ms. Hilden's slideshow will show images, examples, travel experiences and scholarly perspectives of this textile tradition, wherein Bedouin women were expected to master the art of making entire tents, saddlebags, rugs and other utilitarian objects. Ms. Hilde, who is an acknowledged authority on Bedouin textiles, has lived and studied in Saudi Arabia.
