Spring's Paintbrush Brings Quite a Show to Kensington

Blake Garden flowers are worth a look.

Late season rains have created a spectacular display at Blake Garden.

According to garden manager Lauri Twitchell, as well as long-time Kensington residents, the garden flowers are putting on a real show. The garden, owned by the University of California, includes over 10 acres of plantings and supports teaching and research in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Design at the university.

The garden, located at 70 Rincon Road in Kensington, is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It is closed weekends and university holidays.

Directions are easy. Coming from Berkeley, just turn left at the only traffic light on the Arlington in Kensington. If you can’t make it up to the garden, take a look at these photos.
