Show Us: What Kind of Wildlife Have you Spotted in Your Yard

Patch reader Holly Rose shares a photo of a wild deer in her yard.

With all the animals Albany is dealing with — from wild turkeys to backyard goats — one reader is bringing deer into the mix.

Recently, a petition seeking to change Albany code regulating backyard goats has started. In Berkeley, residents can keep up to two female goats.

"In El Cerrito, we get wild deer for free and with no obligation," reader Holly Rose Tweeted to @BerkeleyPatch.

What kind of animals have you spotted in your yard or around town recently? Do you have a photo to share? Upload it in our gallery above.

And lizards. And moles. And hawks.

And opossums, of course. We love watching the weird little buggers wandering through the yard though I worry about the neighbors snail/slug/rodent bait.

Since we don't have any dogs in the yard, it has become an animal freeway to the yard & street behind us. We have seen, cats, possums, raccoons, squerrils, skunks, & 2 baby skunk kits w/o mom.

I see vultures circling over the Hillside Nature Area. Sometimes I hear a red tail hawk and often I see Stellar's Jays as well as scrub jays and the ubiquitous little brown birds.

No photos, but I've had a grey fox, a Cooper's hawk and countless skunks, opossums, raccoons, rats, squirrels (same thing, with fuzzy tails), vultures, salamanders, lizards and an occasional turkey. Lately though, no deer. Also, of course the locals birds.
