Get Rid of Outdated Meds on Saturday, April 27

You can turn in expired, unused and unwanted medications to the El Cerrito Police Department or the Kensington Fire Protection District on National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

Local residents have two options for getting rid of expired, unused or unwanted prescription medications on Saturday, April 27, National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

The El Cerrito Police Department will accept medictions from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the vacant parking lot at 10940 San Pablo Ave., El Cerrito (near the rear of the El Cerrito Fire Department).

The Kensington Fire Protection District will accept medications during the same hours on Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the fire station, 217 Arlington Ave., Kensington.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is a program of the federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

The service is free and anonymous. You may black out identifying information on a prescription bottle (but leave the name of the medication readable).
