El Cerrito Invited To Play In The Streets

Traffic alert: Portions of Conlon and Key avenues near Baxter Creek to be closed to traffic Sunday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.


Portions of Conlon and Key avenues will be closed to traffic on Sunday as children and families take over for a day of fun during El Cerrito's first Street Play event of the year.

Street Play is a chance for residents to get outside, have fun and get to know their neighbors. The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

According to the City of El Cerrito website, activities include fun for all ages and abilities, such as:

  • car-free bike zone
  • live music by the Del Mars
  • giant-sized chess board
  • Pop-Up Bike Park - El Cerrito High School Mountain Bike Team
  • Traditional Kulintang Music of the Philippines presented by Kulintang Friends of the Bay Area
  • ball games
  • chalk art
  • face painting
  • Sound Bath (a sonic immersion experience) sponsored by The Vestibule Center for Sound Healing
  • gardening resources
