Last month, for a fee of $21.00 (the price of transparency), I was given the agendas for all 2013/2014 WCCUSD School Site Council meetings held through the month of April. This is the council responsible for drafting, implementing, reviewing, and revising the School Site Plan for Student Achievement.

This council includes legally mandated opportunities for parent input, but most of the agendas unlawfully fail to mention this. Twenty-four district schools had only held 0 to 2 meetings at this point.
The name of school is followed by the number of agendas received. Note: agendas are often not posted on the school website, a violation of the California Government Code. How can you have parent involvement at these meetings (if held) when no one knows the meetings have taken place. One school never posted the time of the meeting, that somehow we would just figure it out. Next, we will audit the minutes of these meetings. It is possible that for some of the agendas I was provided, that the meeting was cancelled due to lack of quorum.
