West County Schools to Receive Millions to Improve Energy Efficiency

The West Contra Costa school district will receive $1.64 million a year for five years from a state grant to improve energy efficiency at its schools, reports the West County Times.

The district will use the money mainly for energy savings projects in schools. These funds were authorized under Prop. 39, which passed in November.

The Times reports the schools to see improvements include Pinole Valley High School, Wilson Elementary in Richmond, Stege Elementary in Richmond, Hercules Middle and High School, to name a few.
