More copper sculptures gone

Another copper light-pole sculpture is gone. The twirling circles on Potrero and San Pablo. Isn't that 2 down in the past couple weeks? Very frustrating that someone would do that, but also starting to feel like a big waste of money. Sad!

A ounce of prevention is worth a pound cure. Should we spend $100 to secure the remaining sculpture(s) worth thousands before it also ends up being sold for $20 at the local scrap yard? Whose idea was it to spend $100,000 on those sculptures and not insist on anti- theft installations? The real question are is are they still employed?

here is the original Patch article about the sculptures and who put them up. http://elcerrito.patch.com/groups/politics-and-elections/p/copper-sculptures-debut-on-san-pablo-avenue

Hey folks... your comments made me curious, so I checked this out. Turns out the two sculptures are being fixed because they were squeaking. See the story I posted on El Cerrito Patch.

The AWOL sculpture I asked about missing from the pole by Home Depot has returned!
