DESCRIPTION:One morning Joseph K is suddenly arrested\, and yet he has do
ne nothing wrong. The Trial is a graphic adaptation of Franz Kafka's fam
ous novel\, illustrated by one of France's leading graphic artistst. Thi
s darkly humorous tale follows Joseph K\, who is arrested one morning fo
r unexplained reasons and forced to struggle against an absurd judicial
process. K finds himself thrown from one disorientating encounter to the
next as he becomes increasingly desperate to prove his innocence in the
face of unknown charges. In its stark portrayal of an authoritarian bur
eaucracy trampling over the lives of its estranged citizens\, The Trial
is as relevant today as ever. Book group meetings are usually held on th
e fourth Monday of every month in the library at 7:00 p.m. Each meeting
starts with a poem selected and read by a member with a brief discussion
following the reading. New members are always welcome
