Viewfinder: Fairmont School Garden Blossoms Under Volunteer Care

Despite the rain, parents were on hand Saturday to tend the school's garden and staff the rummage sale.

garden, tucked in nooks and crannies around the school, has grown bit by bit over the past several years thanks to donations, an Ed Fund grant, and the efforts and expertise of volunteers.  The garden brightens the school and provides an occasional healthy repast from the edible section.

On Saturday, a couple of hardy volunteers dodged the rain to spruce up the garden while inside the multipurpose room Principal joined parents running a fund-raising rummage sale.

The garden could use contributions such as seeds, soil, and kid-sized tools. If you have something to donate, email gofairmont@yahoo.com.
