Police Alert on Mail Theft Suspect in El Cerrito

El Cerrito police are asking the public's help in catching a mail thief who struck several times this past week in the city. Police released a photo of the the suspected thief captured on home surveillance video.

El Cerrito police have a released a photo of a suspected mail thief and are asking anyone who sees the suspect or knows his identity to contact police.

There were several cases of theft of mail or packages in the city this past week, chiefly during the day, police said. 

The photo distributed by police accompanies this article. It was taken from one of several home surveillance videos that photographed the suspect, police said.

This week, El Cerrito experienced several instances of mail theft. The suspect, in these incidents, has been taking packages and outgoing mail. The thefts occured primarily during the day. Several residents captured video footage of a suspected mail thief. The attached image is a still photo, of a suspected mail thief, captured by a video surveillance camera. ElCerrito residents are encouraged to call the El Cerrito Police if they see this individual or know his identity.
