The Transition Town Movement is an international grass-roots approach to building local resilience in the face of challenges such as peak oil, climate change and economic restructuring.
Transition Kensington is just getting started but there are movements in Albany, Berkeley, Oakland, Richmond and San Francisco that we can work with and learn from.
Should we consider a combined El Cerrito/Kensington movement?
Let me know!

I'm interested. I'll begin my research on what this entails to see if it's something I can get involved with. Thanks!

Hi, glad to hear you're interested!
Here are a few links to help with your research:
Our neighbors in albany have a good head start:
http://transitionalbany.org/
Here's the national site. There's a good article about Sebastapol, CA in here:
http://www.transitionus.org/
Here's the original site, in the UK:
http://www.transitionnetwork.org/
Let me know if you have any ideas or questions. Each transition community decides for itself how to best interpret and localize the concepts. I'm working with Albany and learning more about the process as they approach their "Great Unleashing."

Hello "Voice It,"
Just checking back with you, did you have a chance to explore Transition, and if so, any interest in ramping things up in EC/K-town?
Best,
Steve

Anyone else out there? There have been lots of exciting developments, including a possible presence at the Green Festival in SF in November. Transition Albany had its successful Great Unleashing and is busy on follow-up initiatives. Transition Berkeley is gearing up, too. Shall we join them?
Cheers,
Steve
